The event ran smooth and it was good to see quiet a few new faces out there. What a difference a few days make. When we were prepping the track we were enjoying a full on heat wave and the track was bone dry, everyone was excited in how fast the track was running. Come race day it was a differennt story....wasn't raining on the day but the track....lets just say it's seen better days but it made for some very intresting racing. The only downer on the whole thing was during presetation a rider got his brand new DH bike stolen....a blue Norco worth over three grand....was a sand end to a wickedly awesome event.

ARTHUR HERRINGTON Jr

One of the best things about grass roots (Mates Races) is that it brings everyone together, young and old. Including two generations of the Herrington family. Little Arthur Herrington Jr (seen here) aged 7 who is a BMX rider ranked European number 7 and 17th in the world was racing with young kids twice his age. He is definitely a young lad to watch in the near future. I know his parents Arthur Herrington Sr (who also raced) and Natasha Bonser (who at this time is expecting another addition to the family) are very proud.
